Josiah goes to Arizona!

I thought I would post some pictures of our Arizona mission trip for those that might be interested. It was another great trip and God's faithfulness shone through in too many ways to mention. It was also a special trip because I took Josiah along with me. He did far better than I would have expected him to do.

Panoramic shot of a full rainbow that showed up one afternoon. We ended up having rain at some point each day that we were there.

Josiah at the Thomas ride at Six Flags. He loved going on all the rides. I even "tricked" him into going on one of the big roller coasters, "Ninja". He didn't like it at all and said that it was because "it felt like my head was going to fall off."

The "Blue Shirt Club" is an exclusive group and Josiah was an honorary member for the night as he also was wearing plaid shorts. The shirt is a little big but he didn't seem to mind.

We joined up with the Corvallis Korea Church students for one of the evenings to play some basketball and hang out. They had come with us the past few years to Kaibito and were on the Res at the same time we were but in a different location.

Josiah took this group shot at the Navajo National Monument for us because he didn't want to be in it. Not too bad for a 5-year-old

The "boardwalk" was a game that the kids played during games for one of the days. Siah couldn't quite get his left and right figured out but still had fun with it

Here we are taking a van run to the store for some treats. You can see Siah's eyes towards the back. We had 24 students in the van for this ride (not including Siah or me). That wasn't even the capacity record on the trip as I had 38 total people (mostly kids) in the van one morning when we went to go pick up kids for the VBS

Siah would fall asleep almost every night watching "Animaniacs" on my iPod

After not wanting to be a part of the VBS for the first three days he finally decided to join in on Thursday and had a great time.

Working on some crafts

He fell asleep on a pew during our chapel time on Friday night and stayed asleep the entire time we cleaned the church. His eyes were slightly open and freaked all the students out as they would check to see if he was still asleep

On the van ride home. I realized when we got back that I didn't even get one picture with he and I together. Oh well, maybe I'll have to take him back next year for that.

That's so cool that he got to go with you, Dan. Sounds like thoroughly enjoyed his time. As for the sleeping one with his eyes part way open, guess he takes after Anna on that one, huh? That is, if she still does it...she used to anyways... :)

Great panorama shot - you couldn't have planned the rainbow any better. Looks like the little one fit right in. Dad
