With jingle bells ringing and kids will be singing...

Friday the day started out somewhat early, I got a little craziness in my bones and decided to take all 3 kids out on Black Friday...but it was a littlet later than most...I started at 9 a.m. :)  Dan had gone down to Corvallis to do an all day geocache time with a friend, so I figured why not get a little shopping done! :)  Headed to Wal-Mart first...got exactly what I wanted, was first in the checkout line...then off to the mall...stuck Cami in the backpack so she couldn't escape the dreaded stroller...got a few things there, then headed to my beloved Target...again found the things on my list and wait...NO break downs yet from the kids!  I even went through the toy aisles!  So I figured since they were doing so well why not try to go to Toys R Us?  Not such a great idea come to find out...it was still pretty busy there with a LOT of people in the aisles...well, unfortunately Micah saw a Buzz toy and wanted it BADLY...so I took it from him and told him to wait til Christmas...didn't go over so well with him...so we left the cart in the aisle that only had a ball in it and went to the car to get out of there!  :)  I did happen to bribe my children earlier that morning if they were super good they would get a tasty (to them) lunch at McDonalds and have some play time...they barely got rewarded thanks go Micah, but how could I blame him...the poor kid was a trooper walking through the differ stores and malls, I think he was hungry and getting a little tired!  Ya think? :)  So by 11:15 a.m. we were back out in S. Salem (because there was NO way I was going to set foot in a McDonalds or any restaurant on Lancaster--it was BUSY!) McDonalds for their happy meals...which of course made them happy and some play time!  Headed back home for nap time...awww...quiet...:)  But oh how I love those kids...they were awesome!  I can't even tell you how many looks I got...probably thinking "crazy  mom"...but we did it and it was a successful shopping trip!

Later that evening when Dan arrived home the kids were REALLY into the Christmas spirit and wanted to decorate so we got all the decor down from the attic and started putting our house together to look like Christmas...:)  Of course we played Christmas music! Saturday came and they REALLY wanted to get the tree...so we did our tradition that we have been doing for a couple years now; got chocolate milk and donuts and trapsed out to the tree farm to find the tree of our choice! And it wasn't raining so we took off...

[Insert commentary from Dan...Anna neglected to mention that we got to drive in 4-wheel drive up a steep slippery hillside to find the perfect tree. Driving on the Reservation during the mission trips provides great preparation for adverse driving conditions. And we didn't get stuck, slide into the trees, or roll over!]

So HERE is our tree...the kids were so excited...

Me and the kiddos...
Daddy and the kiddos...
Josiah peaking...Cami wouldn't look at the camera...imagine that...she was too concerned with not wanting to fall in the mud!
Decorating time...I was hoping to wait til after nap...but they were again too excited...Cami so careful placing the ornaments on the tree..
Daddy and Micah working on some more ornaments...the boys were so excited to see all the differ ones that we had!  I remember being thrilled as  a little girl to decorate too...so I can  see why they love it so much!
Siah got to place the star on the top...we can never seem to find a perfectly straight branch on top...oh well...
The finished product with 3 happy children...or so you think...
Then came nap time...which the middle child...had a little bit of a hard time...

Meanwhile...during naptime Dan and I worked on putting lights on the house...it's been a few years since we had put them up so decided it was time again!  Or actually DAn decided!  :)  We had 3 of our neighbors tell us we were making them look bad! :)  Sorry guys!  Can't help it our kids are excited about Christmas this year! :)  So fun though!  I love this time of year...

Looks like LOTS of family fun!!

And Anna, you may be my new hero. I seriously can not believe you took your 3 kids out on Black Friday!!!

And I also am a little sad to read that you left your house at 9:00am and managed to hit up Wal-mart, the mall AND Target and be done by 11:15.

Does this mean when my kids come I can't wander the Target aisles for 3 hours anymore?!?! =)

It's so much fun to enjoy Christmas with your kids, isn't it? I never decorate so early, but we've got our tree up and everything, too! It's hard not to feed off of the kids' excitement - and they don't even really get why they're excited, they just are! Glad you had such a great weekend with your sweet kids! :)

Yay! Lots of fun! And I'm so happy you guys put lights up outside thsi year! Cute pictures :) When Josiah got to our house last weekend, he wanted to know where our Christmas tree was. I'd told him before I'd known we'd watch them that the next time he'd come to our house, we'd have our tree. SO fun how they're all getting excited!
