Well, we haven't had much happen today. Josiah's medical records were just sent from the Salem Clinic to the orthopedic office ten minutes ago...after being requested at 8:00 this morning...and it is now almost 5:30...in the evening. A doctor must then look at it before an appointment can be set up. As James 1:3ff. talks about the testings of our faith producing endurance it is no joke. We trust the Lord and we wait. Meanwhile, Josiah is doing what every "normal" four-year-old with a broken leg would do: cry a bit, whine a bit, and want nothing more than to go outside. Anna was able to take him for a walk this afternoon in the double jogger stroller with Cambria. After walking for a while it was time to head back home. As Anna turned the stroller around to go back to the house Josiah cried out, "I don't want to go home yet!" He's a trooper...of the storm variety (all you Star Wars fans will understand).
Before signing off I do have to share a funny moment in the midst of this ordeal: After initially finding out that Josiah had hurt his leg, and after almost 12 hours of not going to the bathroom, we decided that he needed to empty his bladder. Obviously he didn't want to have anything to do with moving anywhere as it would hurt his leg, so, we had to physically get him ready to go potty and discovered that he had dressed himself on Saturday morning with two pairs of Mr. Incredible tighty wighties. This was going to be some task to get both pairs off without disturbing his temporary cast. I called for Anna to get the scissors so that we could cut them off. Josiah flipped out (and this is actually an understatement). After calming him down I asked what was wrong. "I don't want you to cut my leg off!" I never thought the day would come when I would have to reassure my son that I would never cut his leg off. We got through it. And he still has both legs intact.
Thank you for your prayers and encouragement. We'll update the blog as things develop.

Poor Josiah! I love that he thought you'd cut his leg off... maybe he's having thoughts of lost limbs on Starwars???
Praying for you guys, poor little sweetie.
