On Saturday we took off with the youth group to Gleneden Beach for Beach Olympics. We do a bunch of fun games and then have freetime and a bbq. The boys spent the night at Auntie Jill and Uncle Nolan's the night before and we took Cambria along! Of course they had a great time at the Nelson's and Dan and I had another date night on Friday night...with Cambria!
Anyways, the day was kinda windy and overcast when we got there, but after a couple hours it turned out to be BEAUTIFUL! How often do we get to see the Oregon Coast with sun? The answer, almost Never it seems! Or at least not when i'm there! It was a tad windy, but that didn't bother us! Cambria was great and took a few catnaps; you should have seen all the stuff we had to haul out to the beach just for the baby...her pack and play, jogger, a huge bag, and cooler. Oh well. I had to be prepared!
My friend Rachel with Cambria; I had lots of arms that wanted to hold her and help out with her!
Another friend Leandra holding Cambria! Awww...she's so loved!
Cambria and me...smile! Andif you can tell she's wearing the Cambria, CA sweatshirt that Great Gpa and Gma Steiner got her before she was born! It fit her perfectly!
The kids had a contest for a sand sculpture thing and it had to be from the Bible and so Cambria was posing as Baby Jesus in one of the groups...they had done the birth, death and resurrection!
The giant earth ball that is so much fun and huge! Last year it got away and they had to chase it...thankfully that didn't happen again...well Dan was probably the thankful one since he did some of the chasing it down last year! :) Some of you knokw what I was talking about!
Kids playing a game with the earth ball! We even had a lady come up with two of her sons that were in highschool and midhigh and asked if they could join in and play. So that was pretty cool! The kids accepted them like they were a part of our group! WE are so thankful for a great youth group! They are great kids!
Sand volleyball was also played...you can't go to the beach and not have a lil sand volleyball game!
Our friend's Josh and Lynn who help out in the youth group brought Tucker (one of 'Si's buddy's) to the beach...he was such a good lil guy! I had fun playing catch with him and he hung out with me for a lil while and just had fun following the kids around and digging holes!
Some of our 6th grade girls (well soon to be 7th grade girls!) Pam and I were their leaders this last year and such an awesome group of girls! We loved having them as our group! Unfortunately some of them weren't able to make it on the trip to the beach. Bummer!
And Cambria finally all tuckered out from the long day outside...Pam Williams cuddling with her! I love watching people cuddle her and hold her it's so sweet and warms my heart! Pam is the one that I helped with the 6th grade girls and she's great! I love serving with her! She's such an encouragement and godly woman that I definitely look up to!
It was a GREAT day at the coast and so many fun memories! There are so many more pictures that could be posted but I think DAn posted or will post a abunch of them on the Cause blog! Can't wait till next year!
