Today was the day we were planning to spend the day in D.C.; thankfully after all the rain yesterday it cleared up and was a beautiful, cool day! No fun to spend the day walking in the rain! Dan headed down to D.C. with his Dad when he left for work to do a little geocaching...his Mom and I headed down around 11 a.m. to meet up with them after I slept in a little and we took our time getting ready! So Dan's Mom drove to the New Carlton Station so we could get on the metro to meet up with Dan...first time she has driven there by herself...she did GREAT! She's a pro getting around in Maryland! :) We were thankful we didn't have to stop and get gas since neither one of us really know how to pump gas...haha! Here are some pics of our day...I accidentally did them backwards in order, but oh well.
Dad and Mom in front of the Christmas tree that is by the White House...these pics are for you Micah and Josiah...:)

All of us with the White House behind us...we need to crop it I just didn't take the time to do it yet...

The tree with the Washington Monument behind it...there were also 50 smaller trees around the big tree that represented the states...there were also trains all around the big tree going around...we will show you the video when we get home boys! :) We also listened to a jr. high choir that came to sing some Christmas music for people there! It was cute!

Daddy with his GPS...something significant about this "zero milestone"...but if I explain it I will mess up...so maybe he can do that later! :)

Dan and I in front of the tree...

They had a fun Santa's Workshop to walk through and then at the end you could get your picture taken with Santa...you had to be 12 and under so we couldn't get a picture with him for you guys ...sorry! But you boys would have LOVED to go through this house! So fun! So which "nice" are you?

Beautiful capitol!

Washington Monument...sun going down...

This is the White House and we took the picture up in the Washington Monument...after we had lunch with Dan's dad we decided to see if we could get tickets to do a tour of the Washington Monument and it was pretty dead there...so we got tickets for it right away...such a beautiful clear day!

Me in front of the Monument...it was a bit windy...can you tell...-notice the hair...:)

Dan and I at the World War II Memorial with the Washington Monument behind us!

Dan and I again in front of the Washington Monument...

Again this picture Dan took while we were up in the Washington Monument...amazing how far we could see!

Dan's Dad and Mom in his office in the USDA Building right in the downtown part of D.C....the building is HUGE...

Isn't this picture AWESOME!!! Dan took it of the Washington Monument when he arrived there earlier in the morning and it was pretty foggy still...BEAUTIFUL!

Another great picture Dan took when he went to Arlington National Cementary...they put wreaths at EVERY tombstone...amazing...

Arlington House ....

We spent a lot of time walking and went to the American History Museum also. Such a great day and had so much fun sightseeing beautiful D.C.
