Holding Hands...

It's begun...and yes I know it's only the beginning.  I just had to blog about this particular situation came to light to me on Thursday and  today while picking up Josiah and his friend Ryder from school. I have no picture for this post, you will have to picture it in your mind!

So I had to park across the street Thurs and today and walked across the street to go get the two lil men at the front of the school where they wait so patiently for me to come get them!  I then make eye-contact with their teacher to let them know they are now in MY hands and proceed to drag 4 children up the sidewalk, across the street and back to the car.  Before getting to the crosswalk I was carrying Cami, holding Micah's hand and Josiah and Ryder were walking beside me...Micah then tells Josiah and Ryder they needed to hold his other hand to cross the street, but of course the older two tell him "no" as they are "too old" to do that and know better than to just run across the street.  So Micah looks at me and removes his hand QUICKLY from mine to be just like the "older boys".  This again happened today and I didn't even tell Micah to hold my hand I just reached down to grab it...and he looked at my hand...waiting patiently and looked away like he hadn't seen it!  HA!  Funny lil man!  Needless to say, he wasn't too embarrassed to hold my hand on our way to pick them up...it was only AFTER we got the boys!  Sigh...embarrassed of me already...sad! :0)

Oh that's too cute! Micah is such an observer that it doesn't surprise me that he'd notice and want to be just like the big boys. Sad that he's growing up so quickly though :)

I can just picture this in my mind's photo album! Great story:)I can remember when each of my boys would still hold my hand when going somewhere...and then when they stopped. Ahhh, growing up! Maybe when it's just the two of you, he'll still hold:)

So I enjoyed this story so much I had to go back and read it again:) So I see that Micah is still ok with holding mommy's hand without the 'big' guys around! Just makes me smile!

Ah, so sad...I can totally picture Micah doing this though. It evens seems like Josiah should still be little enough to still hold your hand...they grow up so quick...

Now where do you think Ryder and Josiah learned that? School, or church? Some other kid probably said something and they realized they were "to big" now to hold hands. And poor little Micah, he wants to be grown up too, like the "big" boys. But he's still Mommy's little boy and you can tell him that. :-)
