The Car Story

In Honor of Lightening McQueen this story will be written in blue...I know what you are thinking, "Anna don't you know that he is red?  Yes I realize that, but you can buy blue Lightening McQueen cars too!  So anywho, this story is about a poor little boy named Micah, our awesome 2 year old and his poor lil blue McQueen car; whom he actually called, "Le King" because Mr. the King or whatever his name is in CARS is blue...looks like this Lightening McQueen!  Ok, so are you confused yet?  Sorry, I just had to tell you the details!  Some have already heard this story, so bear with me if you already have, I felt the need to blog something today...:)

This all took place as my SIL (Sis-in-law )Jill, the 3 kids and myself were heading to the beach a couple weeks ago.  We were on HWY 22 almost to Dallas and the boys had their windows down, now I know I have told them a MILLION times to NOT put anything out the window; including their hands, especially when I am going 60 mph.  So sweet little Micah obviously doesn't heed to my instructions most of the time, being the 2 year old he is, and all of a sudden he started BAWLING!   And I don't mean just a little cry, it was a HEART wretching CRy!  JIll and I were like what in the world just happened?  He kept crying loudly, 'MY CAR, MY Le King!"  We realized he had dropped him out the window!  OH GREAT!!!!!  We tried to console him as I kept driving 60 mph down the road determined we will get to the beach and enjoy this day, but still trying to feel sympathetic towards my lil man!  But his sobbing was not going to stop at ALL no matter what we said!  So I see the sign for Dallas and I tell Micah, "Do you want Mommy to find Mr. Le King?"  HE STOPPED!  Looked at me with those puppy dog brown eyes w/ tears in them, 'yes".  So the good mommy I am, I kept driving, yup that's right, to look for Mr. Le King at Wal-Mart!  When we got there, I told them to stay in the car, because Mommy was going to "find" Mr. Le King!   I went into the store and bought 2 Mr. Le King's -one for Micah and one for 'Siah because I was feeling awfully generous that day!  I take them out of the packages before I got to the car and then hand them to the boys.  Micah was happy...unfortunately Josiah was NOT!  Are you kidding me?  Josiah was not happy because his Mr. Le King, that I was so thoughtful enough to buy for him didn't have "SHINY" wheels like Micah's!  REALLY?  Yup really! I thought I had made sure to get them EXACTLY the same...I guess I didn't pay close enough attention to the rims! Goodness the little things which kids notice.  So after what 15-20 minutes of whining while we were driving I had to pull over one more time to have a 'talk" with Siah. I think he even said to me at one time, "what if I lose my Mr. Le King, will I get a new one?"  Ha!  He probably would have put it out the window too if I told him yes!  I was thinking will we ever get to the beach?  Yes but it took awhile!  We got there, and I can't remember if it was at the beach or when we got back Micah says so sweetly, "My mr. Le King is on the road!"  Oh I SOOO thought I had tricked him!  Guess he's a lot smarter than I thought!  So there is my story, that we will never forget! :)  And no more holding toys out the window!

HAHA!! I love your story! Thank you for sharing it and the "joys" of parenting. :) I remember being the exact same way with my sister (comparing toys) and throwing fits if something wasn't "fair". Oh, the adventures I have to look forward to with my children. :) Thanks again for sharing! If you're not yet (which you probably are), you'll be laughing at this someday soon!

Wow! Glad no small animals (or cars) were harmed in the throwing of that vehicle...:)

What a good mommy you are to get a replacement! Funny story!
