Cambria, California - The 1st part of the trip

So just wanted to let you know that I had to do these posts in sections so make sure you scroll down all the way; the last part of the trip is titled, "Part 3..." I'm sure you all figured it out but just in case! :)

Now onto the beginning part of our journey...we started our day at 5:20 a.m. on the road to head down to Cambria, Ca to the beach house of Dan's grandparents to spend some quality family time by ourselves! It was going to be a LONG 16 hour drive, but I had snacks galore, dvd's to watch, and some gifts to unwrap that myself and my mom provided! So we were prayed up and hoping the trip would go smoothly! BEWARE THERE ARE A TON OF PICS ON THIS POST! And I'm not even posting half of them! We took a few that's for sure!

So 3 minutes into being on the road, we were just starting to drive up the hill to get onto I-5 from Commercial and Josiah says, "Are we there yet?" Hahahahaha! Dan and I laughed and said, "Uh, no sorry bud! Now go back to sleep!" :) That's how we knew it was going to be a long day as well!

Here our journey begins...:)

Micah and CAmi
'Si with his new toy from my Mom and Dad
We arrived in Cambria late Friday night, and were exhausted!  Couldn't wait to lay our heads on the pillows!  The kids unfortunately had a not so great time sleeping during our vacation, so they were really pooped by the time we got home!  It's so true when they say you need a vacation from your vacation!  Especially when your children are with you! :)

Cambria enjoying the pots and pans ...she was into EVERYTHING!  Loved opening all the cabinet doors and pulling stuff out...

Micah totally pooped from the travelling!

The next morning we let them open up their surprises from Dan's mom and Dad who had been at the beach house a few weeks before us; I made them close their eyes!  They loved the gifts! They are so loved by all their Grandparents! :)
WE took the kids to go see the Elephant Seals...there are thousands of them!  It stunk  too!  Dan and the kiddos checkin out all the seals!  It was fun to watch them!

WE took walks down to the park near the beach house...a lil brotherly love...

Micah working on his climbing skills...there was also a wedding this one particular evening on the beach, fun to watch the bride and groom!  How beautiful!

We woke up to GORGEOUS weather Sat, Sun and Mon...no clouds in sight, not even fog, which is rare there!  WE headed down to San Simeon where we play at the beach there, because on the Cambria beach it has an undertoe that is very dangerous and the sand is pebbly, not sandy.
'Si LOVIN the WATER!  What a stud! :)

Cami took a slight staggering fall into the small creek at the beach...but at least the water was warm in this area!

Boys being boys...

Cami and myself...she loved the sand and water too...although you can't really tell from this pic!

Micah man running from those waves!

I'm not sure what they are doing here...flexing or trying to flex maybe! :)

Cami in all her cuteness!  She was hilarious to watch on the beach, because people would pass by and she would 'talk" to them...and keep talking to them after they passed and then would start yelling her babbling talk to them!  People loved it and laughed at her, what a lil comedian!

Getting all the sand off in the big sink...thank goodness for it!  It worked perfectly for the lil peoples!

It's cool, because across the street from the beach house there is a climb down the rocks that is neat to explore when the tide is out, all kinds of sea animals to find...so Dan took the boys down in turns to go explore...

We also took a nice walk along the boardwalk that was recently put in...it would have been fun to walk the whole thing which is really long, but without kids...they wouldn't have made it the entire way!

Aww...

Dan and his ribs!  We of course had to eat at Dan's 2nd fav well maybe it is his 1st fav...or they are tied together - Inn and Out Burger and this place called, Main Street Grill.  They have amazing bbq ribs and other foods...wipe that drool off Dan!

God's beautiful sunset!

More time down at San Simeon, Josiah again running with the waves!  I think he will probably live on the coast someday!

CAmi enjoyed eating sand...yes I know I tried to stop her, but she seemed to like it because she kept eating it!  Strange lil child!

Isn't this a crazy lookin' pic...It looks like the seagull is sitting on his head...

Notice, the evidence on her mouth!

And of course we had lots of lounge time, relaxing, I was able to read all the books I brought with me, sitting in the sun on the deck while the kids napped...now that is a relaxing vacation! :)

Cuddle time with Daddy..

Cami and her smiles...
Down at the rocks exploring with the boys!  Hopefully next year Cami and I can join him!

I think we also have a rock climber on our hands, (Uncle Mike you would be proud!)  Josiah LOVED climbing up and down the rocks!  He did this one up all by himself! He's proud can you tell? :)
This is the climb to get back up to go to the house.

Pier at San Simeon
I love how her brothers are always loving on her!
One more family pic...

Down to the park one last time...
Our beautiful children! :) oh how we love them! And are so blessed!

Ok, so  I don't love the pic of me in this, but i wanted you to see the beautiful scene behind me, this is on our way out from Cambria...we love going to Cambria and are so thankful to have a beautiful place to escape to for vacation!  What a wonderful trip we had and we are so excited to go back again!

Oh, my, I need to dig my pictures out from when our kids were in some of the same spots and the same ages! When did everyone grow up??? Of course, it's the same park but new equipment. Same house but new couch...much the same but much is new. Same sink I washed little sandy bodies in...only then it was a part of the garage! These are beautiful pictures! I'm smiling! Dan was seven months old for his first trip to Cambria from Corvallis!
